Japanese Sub Culture...

One of Japanese subculture is Japanese Anime culture, I would say. It's no longer Japanese small culture in Japan. The original place where Anime was born is Akihabara, one of small town in Tokyo. There are many Japanese illustlaters, producers and fans as well. They learn a lot of techniques by themself and try to make many animations because they are sick to make it; I mean they REALLY love them. Every seasons they make not only animations but many goods of animations, such as gloceries, novels, songs, games, etc. Although there are many places where you can buy what you want to buy goods of animations, the original place, Akihabara, is best place you can see and experience them. Nowadays, Anime is very important for Japanese national income because most of travelers who live in other countries like them or have an interests about them. Since they spent a lot of money for the Japanese animation, Japan cannot regard Anime as the small culture.

  1. I agree that Anime is one of the biggest Japanese subcultures. I wouldn't say it is supporting Japanese economy but it collects tourists and gives a lot to Japan. But Akihabara is so weird haha

  2. Japanese animators (like Miyazaki Hayao) can be great and something to be proud of. There seem to be many skilled drawers in Japan. Some foreigners are shocked by the level of violence and pornography shown in "manga" though. It is debatable how healthy this is for the culture (kids of any age can easily get these comics).

  3. Totally agreed. Anime is a proper subculture of Japan. Especially animes like Dragonball and Pokemon is respected throughout the world. Adding to that, I personally love these two anime :)

  4. I agree that Japanese anime culture is pretty important for Japanese national income. When I was in America, I saw lots of Japanese animation products at stores, met lots of people who loves anime and bought those items.
They asked me about anime, but I couldn't answer since I did't read them... I should've read some, maybe...
